Remove Jett Ransomware: A Dangerous File-Encrypting Threat
SHARE

Jett is a ransomware variant that encrypts files and demands a ransom payment for decryption. Discovered by cybersecurity researchers while analyzing malware samples on VirusTotal, this ransomware uses AES-256 and RSA-2048 encryption algorithms to lock victims’ files. It appends the “.jett” extension and modifies filenames by adding a victim ID and an email address. Victims receive ransom notes in the form of “info.hta” and “ReadMe.txt”, instructing them to contact the attackers via email or Telegram.

Conclusion

Jett ransomware is a highly dangerous malware strain that encrypts files and pressures victims into paying a ransom for recovery. The attackers assure decryption in exchange for Bitcoin, but paying them is highly discouraged due to the risks of fraud. This ransomware is distributed through phishing emails, malicious downloads, and compromised websites. Victims should seek alternative recovery options such as backups or third-party decryption solutions rather than complying with ransom demands.
